Water!

The You Capture theme this week at i should be folding laundry is water, something there is no shortage of around here right now!  We live very near the Missouri River, which is flooding at the moment.  These photos are from earlier today, but I know that some of these places already look completely different – everything will be much worse by tomorrow.  We used to live on the bottom, but moved to the hills about 2 years ago…thank God!  Please keep everyone else in your prayers though, as a lot of people in our area will be affected by this flood.

  1. Oh my gosh that poor house! It looks like it's on a tiny island.

  2. Those are some amazing shots. I hope everyone (and their animals) were okay. It's beautiful, but dangerous and can cause so much havoc and destruction. I can't help but feel guilty even as I marvel at the beauty and power of nature (because of the people it negatively affects)... but still, it's the wonder I see.

  3. That is just so much water. So sad about all of the devastation that brought to the community.

  4. I grew up on the mighty Mississippi and scenes like this are all too familiar! Stay dry.

  5. My goodness! One of the first things I thought about when Beth mentioned Water as this week's theme was the oil spill on the Gulf. Those are not happy water pictures either. The people in your area and those affected by the spill are in my prayers.
